2015 Álex De La Iglesia - The Witches of Zurragamurdi (Witching & Bitching)

One is reminded a bit of Tarantino's "From Dusk Till Dawn", but Álex De La Iglesia's work is simply much suptiler, more humorous and the better story.
But the idea alone that a heavily armed robber takes his young son to a robbery because he is separated and now "has" his son on this day of all days, and that there is a dispute about child rearing and divorce problems among the robbers and the employees and customers lying on the ground in the robbed gold store, is just wonderfully surreal. And all the actors (watch out for Carmen Maura and Santiago Segura, too) are simply brilliant.

For me the best film of the year!

It should be said that Álex is my favorite director. Almost all of his films are dubbed in English and extremely worthwhile!

And I had the pleasure of meeting this man in person in Zahara de las Atunes. In the middle Manuel Tallafé, the traveling salesman, whose fingers are soon made into finger spears.
